On Saturday night, Blake Snow (6-2, Gracie Barra LC) returns to the cage to take on Kevin Henry. The last time he fought, he put on a three round war with champion, Jesse Sanderson. Since then he has sharpened his skills and is ready to get another shot at V3 gold. See what he had to say about his upcoming fight this Saturday night:
How did you get started in MMA?
I got started in MMA when I graduated college. I was all state my senior year in football and lead the state in tackles. I had some small school offers but wanted to go somewhere so I could pursue a better education. My cousin asked me to go try out this place that did MMA and here I am four and a half years later, still hooked!
How do you feel about this upcoming fight with Kevin Henry?
I think this will be an exciting fight, I haven't fought since I last fought for the belt last November against Jesse (Sanderson). I've continued training and have progressed in all aspects of the game. I know he relies a lot on his ground game, which is my world in a fight. I have gotten better and better with my standup, but I'm comfortable anywhere the fight goes. I respect him as a fighter and person and I think he wants to go to the ground, but when we get to the mats, he'll see I'm different than anything he's been locked into the cage with.
Where do you feel you have the advantage in this fight and how do you see this fight going?
I have worked my tail off training harder than ever, so I plan on finishing this fight quick. I always feel I have the advantage on the ground, but if the fight is standing, I am more than comfortable there as well. But I can guarantee this fight will go to the ground at some point.
Anything else you would like to add?
I'd like to give a shout out to my sponsors AGF Tourneys and GameChanger Clothing. Also want to thank V3 for having me back on their promotion -- best show around -- also my team, Gracie Barra, all of my teammates and my coach Tommy Walker and a teammate who has taken extra time out of his life to come up and help me get ready for this fight, Moose Hawkins. Most of all I want to thank God for allowing me to do this sport and giving me the ability to compete and do what I love to do. Oh, I’d also like to add that when I take care of business the 24th I'm coming for Adrian with that 135 belt. Usually the champ doesn't call out someone for their belt, but he already knows it should be mine and it will be. I can't wait to go to War on the 24th! Veni Vidi Vici!
