Champions will collide on September 26 at Minglewood Hall in Memphis, TN when bantamweight champion, Adrian Thomas, takes on featherweight champion, Blake Snow.

Thomas is currently undefeated at 5-0 and trains with-top notch Tennessee gym, SSF.  The last time he stepped in the V3 cage was back in May in which he defeated Snow’s teammate Trevor Anderson and successfully defended his title.  Here is what Thomas had to say about his upcoming fight with Snow:

“I am going to dominate Blake Snow in every aspect of the fight.  I am better than him everywhere.  I am going to pick him up apart on the feet,  and then I am going to slam him on his head and beat on him until he quits.  Snow doesn’t really want to fight me, he is just talking.  And when we get in the cage, I’m going to take care of business and bring a new shiny piece of gold to the SSF rafters.”

Blake Snow is currently 7-2 and trains at Gracie Barra LC in Arkansas.  He won the title back in January against Kevin Henry.  Snow has been fighting for V3 for quite some time now and he weighed in on this fight against Adrian Thomas:

“I’m excited for this fight.  I have been busting my tail not only in the gym, but in weights and cardio as well and can’t wait for it to all pay off on the 26th.  Adrian is a game opponent, who some regard as the best 135 in the mid-south, but apart from my teammate, Trevor, he has never fought anyone like me and he will feel that different kind of pressure that he hasn’t had to face yet.  I see my finishing this fight in the first or second round.  I’m going to overwhelm him with my power and technique and dominate the fight anywhere it goes.  I feel like I really have the advantage everywhere.  I have thunder in both hands if we stand and trade.  He may have better straight wrestling than me, but MMA wrestling is different and when it comes to jits, that’s like a minnow to a shark, I’ll drown him.”

It’s no surprise that Thomas likes to take his opponents down and use his ground and pound.  He is a former division 1 collegiate wrestler and has been successful in each of this fights and wrestling has played a major role in that.  Snow is no slouch in the wrestling department as well, but usually tends to use his jiu-jitsu once he goes to the ground.  ADVANTAGE – Thomas

When it comes to jiu-jitsu, Blake Snow is about as decorated as they come in the amateur division.  He is currently a purple belt and trains under black belt instructor, Tommy Walker.  He is even sponsored by AGF (American Grappling Federation).  The ‘Legion’ has seen him put on a jiu-jitsu clinic in several of his fights and he can win the fight from the top or bottom.  We have yet to see Thomas’ submission game, but have seen his submission defense before.  However, he has never fought such a decorated grappler so this will be a true test for him.  ADVANTAGE – Snow

With Snow being a jiu-jitsu practitioner and Thomas being a wrestler, most of their fights usually end up on the ground.  The winner of this fight may very well be the one who can dictate the pace in the striking department.  We have seen both fighters exchange on their feet, but not for very long.  Both are very athletic and technical.  Like I said, don’t be surprised if their ground game cancels each other out and they determine the outcome of this fight on their feet.  ADVANTAGE – Even

These two have been wanting to fight each other for quite a while and on September 26 they will get their wish.
