JESSE JAMES LOOKS TO IMPROVE TO 2-0 ON SATURDAY NIGHT

Jesse James will once again be fighting in the mid-south on Saturday night and will look to improve his record to 2-0!

James got started in combat sports at an early age.  At nine years old, he began wrestling both folkstyle and freestyle in California.  He wrestled all the way up to his junior year in high school and then transferred.  He found a local MMA gym and began training in jiu-jitsu and Muay Thai since he heard that wrestlers make the best fighters.  He took his first amateur fight in 2012 and has been doing it ever since.

After a successful amateur career, it seemed impossible for him to get his first professional fight.  No one wanted to fight him.  He then hooked up with Mata Leon Sports Management and this past January he had his professional debut with V3Fights and won in dominant fashion with a first round submission in under a minute.

“I was happy with the results of the first pro fight and want to keep the ball rolling here with the second,” states James.

Standing in his way on Saturday night is James Horne, one of the top fighters in Mississippi.  Horne is coming off of three first round submission wins, but that doesn’t seem to worry James.

“He seems like a tough opponent with all of his pro wins coming by way of submission in the first round, but I don't think he will be able to dictate the grappling exchanges against me. He hasn't fought anyone with pressure like mine and I think it will be overwhelming for him,” stated James.

Even though Horne has more professional fights than James, that doesn’t seem to bother him.  He trains at JacksonWink MMA in Albuquerque, NM with his coaches Greg Jackson, Mike Winkeljohn and several other world class coaches.  He also has a whose who list of training partners that have fought on the world’s biggest stage and some even won world titles, so he will definitely be ready come Saturday night.
